Italian Proofmarks
Italy started rather late with proofmarks, they started on december 30:th 1923 with a proof that was compulsory. The same rulses are more or less applied today. The most visible change is the change from a crown to a star 1950 so crown and PSF is from the time between 1923 and 1950.
Italian proof mark is rather straight forward, normally one can’t get more information from the proof more that it is done. The most used stamp is probably the datingstamp (table 2).
