Back to German Proofmarks 1945-1992
East Germany (DDR) adopted the marks and proofs laws of 1939 when the communist regime went to rule the country until 1974. The Suhl poof mark was changed 1950 to the old one since there were no understanding and acceptance for the DR mark outside East Germany. At the same time they changed the marks.
